Vice President of Operations

Job overview

The Vice President of Operations role is onsite in downtown Houston, TX, with flexibility for occasional remote work. The anticipated base salary is $150,000–$175,000 per year, with a performance-based incentive program. The Hobby Center presents performances and educational programs to strengthen Houston’s community and cultural life. Reporting to the President and CEO, the vice president leads operational strategy and performance across production, audience services, technology, facilities, safety, and capital projects. The role aligns people, systems, budgets, and venue operations to support a safe, high-quality experience for audiences, artists, staff, and community users.

What you'll do

• Set operational strategy and translate organizational goals into plans and systems
• oversee production, event services, facilities, technology, security, parking, and concessions
• lead capital planning and facility stewardship
• manage budgets, contracts, and vendors
• develop operational teams and direct reports
• oversee safety, emergency preparedness, compliance, and accessibility.
