Managing Veterinarian (Medical Director)

The Managing Veterinarian (Medical Director) role is onsite in Brookline, MA. Compensation is a $180,000–$225,000 base salary plus profit sharing, with a 15–25% performance bonus opportunity. The role supports Small Door Veterinary’s growing clinical leadership team and its membership-based veterinary care model. The veterinarian provides medical care while leading and mentoring doctors and supporting consistent clinical standards. Coaching, operational oversight, and partnership with practice leaders help foster a collaborative practice culture and a strong client and patient experience.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and treat pets and counsel clients
• lead and mentor veterinarians
• ensure medical standards and protocols are followed
• partner with the Member Experience Manager and Head Nurse
• coach doctors on medical quality, client experience, teamwork, and professional growth
• and support practice operations, controlled-substance oversight, and medical compliance.
