Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) — Top Secret Clearance

Job overview

The Senior Information System Security Engineer role is onsite in Huntsville, AL, with a salary range of $140,000–$155,000 per year. Agile Defense is seeking an engineer to support the FBI’s ISSO/ISSE Program Management work and its national security mission. The engineer develops and sustains a repeatable framework for categorizing FBI IT systems by architecture, risk, hosting, security posture, and mission needs. The resulting analysis supports appropriate security staffing, reporting, cost recovery, and compliance with federal guidance.

What you'll do

• Support the design and maintenance of FBI system categorization methodology
• assess architectures, interfaces, hosting models, and security controls
• analyze traditional, hybrid, and cloud systems
• document categorization decisions
• map technical attributes to labor recommendations
• support chargeback and cost recovery
• assist categorization and reporting workflows
• contribute to risk management framework and security engineering activities
• apply NIST, CNSS, and FBI guidance.
