Job overview

The Hardware Engineering Manager role is onsite in San Diego, CA. The stated salary range is $175,000–$215,000 per year. Fuse develops communications, networking, computing, hardware, and software solutions for airborne, maritime, and ground environments, with a focus on warfighter capabilities. The manager leads the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams and co-leads technical execution with Principal Engineers. The role develops people, processes, and engineering practices while coordinating hardware development across the product lifecycle and supporting program and product goals.

What you'll do

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and designers
  • recruit, mentor, and develop staff
  • plan resources and identify capability gaps
  • co-lead technical execution with Principal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
  • establish engineering standards and design practices
  • manage technical risks and decisions
  • guide hardware development from concept through production transition and sustainment
  • improve engineering processes, tools, reviews, configuration management, and documentation
  • coordinate with Systems, Software, Network, Product, Programs, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Why this role
