Charge Registered Nurse (PPEC)

The Charge Registered Nurse (PPEC) role is onsite in Flowood, MS, with hours of 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., four days per week; compensation is not specified. Pediatric Health Choice provides care for medically complex, technology-dependent, and behaviorally challenged children through a child-focused, family-oriented service model. The nurse assesses children’s needs, develops and adjusts care plans, administers treatments, and coordinates with families, physicians, and other providers. The role also delegates nursing tasks and, for PPEC facility transport, helps ensure children’s safety and responds to emergencies during transportation.

What you'll do

• Assess children’s physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs
• develop, implement, and adjust care plans
• educate families
• communicate patient status to physicians
• document nursing interventions and outcomes
• coordinate care
• follow infection-control and safety protocols
• delegate tasks to LPNs and nursing assistants
• conduct assessments and administer prescribed medications, treatments, and infusion therapy. For PPEC facility transport, conduct pre-transport assessments, accompany children, manage transport emergencies, maintain emergency equipment and supply checks, and assist with transport schedules.
