Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Full-Time, onsite in Emery, SD. Salary range: $18.50 - $25.50 per hour. Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing senior housing and services. This role serves as a caregiver to residents in a long-term care setting, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse. The CNA is responsible for age-appropriate care, infection prevention, and assisting residents with basic health care needs and daily activities.

What you'll do

• Serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Follows infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use.
• Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
• Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment.
• Provides range of motion and passive exercises.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining.
• Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
• Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
• Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services.
• Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs.

What we're looking for

Education

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Experience

Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
