The unit manager oversees nursing staff and resident-care processes, completes admission and discharge assessments, monitors residents, and supports accurate documentation and infection control. The role contributes to safe, consistent care through staff education, process improvement, and proactive review of care trends.

What you'll do

• Participate in process improvement initiatives
• complete resident admission and discharge assessments
• supervise assigned nursing staff and allocate duties to LPNs and nursing assistants as directed
• document services for billing
• make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status
• implement nursing policies and educate support staff
• review charting weekly
• maintain a safe environment and follow infection-control and body-mechanics procedures
• arrange replacement staff when shortages arise
• track infection-control, exposure-control, and resident-care trends.
