Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing role is onsite in Austin, TX. Pay is $105,000–$125,000 per year. The director leads the nursing department and resident care operations at a nursing center, reporting to the Executive Director. The role exists to ensure coordinated, high-quality nursing care and effective department operations. By overseeing care planning, staffing, compliance, staff development, quality review, and budgets, the director supports resident needs and the facility’s care standards.

What you'll do

• Administer and manage the nursing department
• coordinate resident care plans in accordance with physician orders and regulations
• develop nursing objectives, standards, procedures, and job descriptions
• participate in hiring, orientation, training, and dismissal
• ensure adequate staffing and approve schedules and time sheets
• manage nursing service hours, supplies, and budget
• oversee admissions, discharges, documentation, audits, incident reviews, and infection control
• lead nursing staff development and performance reviews
• maintain regulatory compliance and resident confidentiality
• provide 24-hour on-call service for emergencies.

Why this role

Requires a current, valid Texas registered professional nurse license in good standing and 3+ years of nursing service administration experience. A bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent related work experience is preferred. The role requires 24-hour on-call availability.
