The Lead Cook – Assisted Living Community role is full-time and onsite in Spirit Lake, ID, with pay of $20–$25 per hour. The position supports the dietary team at Mountain Springs Assisted Living Community, a 24-bed community. The lead cook oversees daily kitchen operations and helps ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality meals. Menu planning, food preparation, purchasing, inventory, and staff coordination support reliable meal service and a prepared kitchen team.

What you'll do

• Develop weekly menus aligned with dietary needs and meal-service goals
• plan and coordinate food preparation
• support grocery shopping and purchasing
• schedule kitchen staff and assist with coverage
• train and mentor kitchen staff
• oversee kitchen organization, cleanliness, and safe food handling
• monitor inventory and reduce waste
• coordinate timely meal service
• maintain required records
• identify process and teamwork improvements.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of kitchen or food-service experience with demonstrated leadership, menu planning, purchasing and inventory awareness, and safe food-handling knowledge. Staff scheduling experience is preferred.
