The Medical Coder, Practice PFS role is onsite in Grand Junction, CO, with compensation of $26.00–$31.20 per hour. The role supports physician office practice accounts through the Practice PFS function at Colorado West Healthcare System. The coder reviews physician office visit documentation and applies CPT procedure and ICD-10 diagnosis codes to patient accounts. Accurate, timely coding and account follow-up support billing operations, coding compliance, and resolution of coding questions and denials.

What you'll do

• Code physician office visit documentation using CPT procedure and ICD-10 diagnosis codes
• follow medical coding guidelines and policies
• communicate with physicians about coding and patient questions and provide documentation feedback
• meet accuracy and productivity standards
• assist with coding reviews as appropriate
• follow up on assigned accounts in billing systems
• maintain a 48-hour turnaround on coding worklist accounts and at least 95% accuracy
• document account actions and provide timely corrections and feedback on coding denials and questions
• escalate issues as appropriate.

Why this role
