Payroll Technician

The Payroll Technician role is fully onsite in Everett, WA. Compensation is not specified. The position is a six-month assignment, 40 hours per week, and supports Community Transit payroll for more than 950 employees. The role exists to process and reconcile biweekly payroll accurately and on deadline. It supports employees and the organization by maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, handling timekeeping and deductions, and coordinating with benefits and IT teams.

What you'll do

• Enter payroll exception and timekeeping data
• research discrepancies, make corrections, and document changes
• review payroll records for accuracy and completeness
• calculate, process, and reconcile payroll
• maintain records and archives
• validate timekeeping calculations against labor contracts, agency policy, and labor laws
• respond to payroll inquiries
• reconcile deduction reports and prepare third-party payments
• process leave and supplemental-pay information
• work with IT to troubleshoot payroll systems and test updates and fixes.
