The Residential Therapeutic Mentor role is an onsite position in Charlottesville, VA, supporting youth in Elk Hill’s group homes. Compensation is $40,000–$50,000 per year. Elk Hill serves children and families across Central Virginia through its mental health and residential programs. The mentor provides positive role modeling, coaching, training, and supervision to help youth build interpersonal, communication, social, and problem-solving skills. The role also supports recreational and social activities aligned with goals established with youth, parents, and placing agencies.

What you'll do

• Mentor youth across six group homes
• work with youth on interpersonal, communication, social, and problem-solving skills and age-appropriate behaviors
• coordinate with the Program Director
• supervise recreational and social activities
• complete session progress notes
• attend meetings as requested
• maintain CPR, First Aid, behavior management, and medication aide certifications
• maintain a valid driver’s license and qualifying driving record.
