The Senior Scientist I, Discovery Pharmacology role is onsite in Madison, WI. The Wisconsin pay range is $120,000–$130,000 per year. Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals develops RNA interference-based medicines for diseases with a genetic basis; this role supports its Biology Research Department and Discovery Pharmacology team. The scientist designs and interprets studies that advance drug discovery and development by clarifying mechanisms of action. The role also develops cell-based assays, supports cross-functional scientific understanding, solves research problems, and communicates findings to project teams, governance bodies, and external audiences.

What you'll do

• Design, execute, and interpret in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies
• develop and optimize cell-based functional assays
• support Biology and cross-functional teams in understanding drug mechanisms
• apply scientific literature and troubleshoot problems
• present findings to project teams and governance bodies
• prepare technical reports
• present externally at conferences or in publications
• perform critical experiments and maintain lab productivity.

Why this role
