CDL Driver (On-Call Winter Work)

The CDL Driver (On-Call Winter Work) role is an onsite position based in Buena Vista, VA, with compensation of $35 per hour. The driver operates snowplow trucks to help keep Virginia roads clear and safe during winter storms. The role includes vehicle inspections, prompt reporting of issues, communication with route management or dispatch, and participation in required safety meetings and training; travel to snow locations and staying for the event are required, with hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS.

What you'll do

• Operate snowplow trucks safely during winter storms
• follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety rules
• conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues
• communicate unsafe situations or service needs to route management or dispatch
• attend required safety meetings and training
• assist other drivers or routes when needed.
