Pre-Operative / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse, Part-Time

The Pre-Operative / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse, Part-Time role is onsite in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with pay of $40–$45 per hour. The nurse is responsible to the Director of Nursing for the assigned Pre-Op/PACU unit at an outpatient ambulatory surgery center. The nurse assesses patients before and after surgery, interprets monitor information, develops individualized perianesthesia plans, administers and documents prescribed medications and treatments, and coordinates handoffs and transfers. The role also contributes to quality improvement, safety huddles, and team training.

• Assess patients in pre-op, operating room, and PACU areas
• interpret information from invasive and noninvasive monitors
• apply scoring and discharge criteria
• develop individualized perianesthesia plans
• transfer care and provide handoff reports
• administer and document medications and treatments
• collaborate with other disciplines
• participate in quality improvement, team meetings, training, and safety huddles
• maintain role competencies and patient confidentiality.
