The Classroom Support Staff, Special Education role is onsite in New Haven, CT, with compensation of $18–$23 per hour. Solterra Academy provides special education for students ages 5 to 22 who need intensive support for emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, or learning challenges. Under teacher and administration supervision, the role assists with academic, vocational, and behavioral programs, supports classroom activities and transitions, and records student performance data. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–2:45 p.m., with summer hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; the position requires a year-round commitment.

What you'll do

• Actively supervise and assist students in classrooms and throughout the school
• assist with academic tasks
• implement assigned students’ Behavior Intervention Plans
• provide therapeutic feedback
• collect data on student behaviors.
