The Dementia Caregiver role is in person in Venice, FL, with client placements across Sarasota and Charlotte County; it pays $17–$20 per hour. McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty agency matching caregivers with clients based on care needs, experience, availability, and location. The caregiver provides one-on-one support to people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions. Patient, consistent care, observation, and communication help maintain familiar routines, support daily needs, and report changes in a client’s condition.

What you'll do

• Provide dementia and Alzheimer’s care
• use redirection and reassurance for confusion, repetitive behaviors, agitation, anxiety, or resistance to care
• maintain familiar routines and a calm environment
• assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• support transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention
• observe and report changes in behavior or condition
• provide companionship and meaningful engagement
• follow individualized care plans and family preferences.

Schedules vary by client and caregiver availability and may include day, evening, weekend, overnight, 12-hour, short, or split shifts; hours are not guaranteed. Requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, hands-on CPR certification, and specified health and background screening.
