Job overview

The Senior Data Scientist role is onsite in San Francisco, CA. The starting cash range is $160,000–$220,000. Zipline operates an autonomous drone delivery service that delivers food, medicine, and other essential goods. On the Data Science & Analytics team, the scientist owns marketplace and operational decision problems from framing through launch and iteration. The role develops models, experiments, simulations, tools, and recommendations that help product, engineering, operations, commercial, and business teams scale the delivery network.

What you'll do

• Lead analysis and decision systems for pricing, routing, fleet utilization, charging, experimentation, and network planning
• frame ambiguous questions and recommend approaches with tradeoffs
• build machine learning, statistical, optimization, forecasting, and simulation models
• design and analyze experiments and metric frameworks
• partner with engineers to productionize models and data products
• monitor model and KPI performance and drive iterations
• communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
