School-Based Medical Assistant

What you'll do

• Assist patient flow and escort patients to exam rooms
• take vital signs and prepare patients for assessment
• prepare exam rooms and instruments and maintain supplies
• sterilize instruments as assigned
• screen telephone calls for referrals
• ensure patient records contain pertinent information and recent test results
• assist providers with minor procedures and treatments as directed
• follow infection-control, OSHA, and CLIA protocols
• maintain equipment logs
• prepare medications
• maintain CPR certification and licensure requirements
• protect patient confidentiality
• triage walk-ins and calls
• check product expiration dates
• use telehealth to assist providers
• provide health screenings as needed
• complete operations reports as requested
• transmit temperature data
• may coordinate and oversee the VFC program
• maintain cash box, audit, and bank deposits.
