Life Skills Coach — Day Program

The Life Skills Coach role is onsite in Hackensack, NJ, in the Day Program. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., for 37.5 hours per week, and pay is $19 per hour. North Jersey Friendship House supports people with autism and other developmental disabilities in building skills for greater independence and community integration. The coach supports members in social, vocational, and classroom-type activities, helping them work toward personal, social, vocational, and independent-living growth. The role includes leading groups, supporting daily schedules and community activities, documenting progress toward individual service plan goals, and coordinating with program leadership.

What you'll do

• Prepare and lead groups that support personal, social, vocational, and independent growth
• assist members with daily activity schedules
• build relationships with community organizations, programs, businesses, and employers
• plan recreational activities and outings with the program manager
• transport members in a van as needed
• supervise members during community activities
• document progress toward individual service plan goals
• participate in supervision and review progress with the program manager.
