Counselor II

Job overview

The Counselor II role is onsite in Woodridge, IL. Compensation is $26–$31 per hour. The counselor supports Abraxas Youth and Family Services’ Woodridge Interventions program, providing chemical dependency counseling to clients and their families or collaterals. The role assesses clients, develops and revises treatment plans, and provides counseling and support services for people with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis. It contributes to treatment participation and client progress through individual and group counseling, education, case coordination, and crisis intervention.

What you'll do

• Assess each client
• initiate and sustain motivation to participate in treatment
• develop comprehensive service plans
• provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups
• provide individual and group counseling, community support, case coordination, and crisis intervention services in conjunction with the supervisor and treatment team.
