Tool Room Attendant

The Tool Room Attendant role is onsite in Norfolk, VA. Pay is $18–$22 per hour. The position supports Delphinus Engineering shop and production teams by maintaining custody, control, calibration tracking, and availability of company-owned, rented, and government-owned tools and equipment. The role helps ensure tools are safe, accounted for, and ready for project work. It maintains inventory and calibration records, coordinates calibration services, and supports shop operations with equipment needs and general labor as assigned.

What you'll do

• Maintain custody, control, and maintenance of stored tools and equipment
• receive and inspect returned tools
• ensure issued tools are safe, electrically checked, calibrated as required, and properly guarded
• maintain secure storage by calibration status
• purchase replacement tools and initiate survey forms for damaged or lost tools
• conduct inventory and update records
• track tool locations and calibration due dates
• coordinate calibration services and maintain records
• assist with shop labor and production support
• keep tool room and storage areas organized.

Why this role

Requires tool-room, inventory-management, or related work experience; high school degree; U.S. citizenship; valid driver’s license; and forklift certification or ability to obtain it. Familiarity with calibration tracking, inventory systems, quality documentation, and NAVSEA standards is preferred.
