Design Lead – Structural Engineer

The Design Lead – Structural Engineer role is onsite in Georgetown, TX, with a stated base salary of $100,000–$115,000 per year. The role leads design teams delivering primarily large-scale projects for Gessner Engineering. The position exists to guide structural design from initial direction through project delivery, ensuring technical quality, coordination, and timely completion. It provides engineering leadership, quality review, client coordination, and mentorship to project engineers and designers.

What you'll do

• Serve as primary design engineer of record and project lead for suitable projects
• review design progress, schedules, and issues
• sign and seal plan sets as appropriate
• create or direct schematic layouts and initial design direction
• plan tasks and timelines and delegate work
• perform quality assurance and quality control
• provide technical support and mentorship
• coordinate with clients and design teams
• assist with complex RFIs and construction administration issues
• help develop program requirements and master plans
• generate proposals as needed and meet deadlines.
