The Accountant role is onsite in Hanford, CA, with compensation of $29.92–$38.30 per hour. The role supports the Finance Department in a nonprofit, grant-funded environment at Kings Community Action Organization, whose mission is to develop self-sufficiency in individuals, families, and communities in Kings County. Under the Finance Manager’s supervision, the Accountant performs professional accounting work that supports accurate financial records, payments, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with applicable requirements.

What you'll do

• Prepare, post, and reconcile regular and monthly journal entries
• reconcile accounts as requested
• process monthly child care provider payments with program and Fiscal staff
• post deposits and code them to projects and general ledger accounts
• research and reconcile staff travel advances
• provide general Finance Department support
• comply with applicable regulations, including GAAP and OMB requirements. May assist with allocations, inventory, audits, closing, expense reports, files, document scanning, accounts payable, and payroll as needed.
