Millwork Estimator

Job overview

The Millwork Estimator role is onsite in Newbury Park, CA, with compensation of $70,000–$120,000 per year. Millworks By Design is a specialty trade contractor focused on high-end millwork and finish carpentry for residential and select commercial projects. The estimator develops accurate bids and clear project scopes, interpreting drawings and specifications and coordinating with clients, designers, vendors, and internal teams. The work supports informed project pricing and a clear handoff from estimating to production.

What you'll do

• Build estimates for custom millwork packages
• review architectural drawings, specifications, and RFPs
• conduct takeoffs and enter labor and material costs
• prepare scope write-ups, assumptions, clarifications, and qualifications
• identify conflicts, missing information, and risks
• reconcile estimates with budgets
• communicate with clients, designers, and vendors
• generate RFIs and proposals
• coordinate handoffs to Production
• attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and project reviews as required
• prepare change orders when needed.
