Extruder Operator — 2-Inch Line

The Extruder Operator role is onsite in Roanoke, VA. Pay is $17.60–$25.25 per hour. The position supports Optical Cable Corporation’s fiber-optic cable manufacturing. The operator sets up, runs, and monitors extrusion equipment to produce cable to specifications. Inspection, documentation, and prompt response to production defects help maintain product quality and safe operations.

What you'll do

• Read setup sheets and automation files to determine products, machine adjustments, and materials. Set up, run, and monitor the 2-inch extrusion line
• inspect products at production stages
• apply cable printing as required
• complete paperwork
• clean equipment
• identify defects and assist with resolution or notify a supervisor
• follow safety procedures.
