The Cook role is onsite in Newport News, VA, and pays $17–$18 per hour. Old Dominion Rehabilitation and Nursing is part of Eastern Health Group, a family of skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers focused on resident-centered care. This role prepares and serves meals that meet residents’ prescribed diets, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitation requirements. It supports residents’ daily care by ensuring meals are prepared accurately, safely, and on schedule.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities based on menus and the number of people served
• follow recipes, cooking temperatures, diet plans, portion controls, and sanitation procedures
• check trays for accuracy, including special diets
• prepare food for staff, families, visitors, and events as directed
• clean work areas and equipment
• participate in process improvement and required in-service education.
