What you'll do

• Follow up on denied claims and assigned insurance queues
• research outstanding receivables through calls, correspondence, and portals
• document claim status and appeal activity
• prepare appeal letters and supporting documentation
• meet filing deadlines
• manage aging accounts receivable and negative balances
• process refunds
• answer patient billing calls
• protect patient confidentiality
• post charges using ICD-9 and CPT coding
• verify encounters, register patients when needed, and ensure insurance and claim accuracy.
