The Pharmacist role is onsite at Rosebud IHS Hospital in Rosebud, SD. Pay is $75–$80 per hour. The position supports pharmaceutical services for the hospital and its patients. The pharmacist reviews medication orders and patient charts, processes and checks prescriptions, educates patients, and collaborates with providers and the pharmacy team to support safe, timely medication care. The role also responds to medication-related questions, recognizes adverse reactions and emergencies, and performs additional pharmacy duties according to patient-care needs and unit procedures.

What you'll do

• Review patient charts, medication orders, lab work, vitals, and allergies
• process and fill prescriptions and check them for accuracy
• educate patients on medication therapy
• collaborate with providers and pharmacy staff
• answer drug-therapy questions
• recognize emergencies and adverse reactions and initiate appropriate interventions
• screen calls and process refill requests
• perform controlled-substance audits as directed
• support IV admixtures and inpatient drug distribution based on patient-care needs
• administer immunizations when certified
• participate in required training.

Why this role

Multiple schedules are available: Emergency Department days, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; outpatient days, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; and nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Requires an accredited pharmacy degree, an active unrestricted pharmacist license, and current BLS certification.
