The Community Health Advocate role is onsite in Oakland, CA. The listed pay range is $33.98–$35.22 per hour. The role is part of Asian Health Services’ Community Liaison Unit, supporting access to and satisfaction with its medical, dental, and behavioral health services. This grant-funded role ends December 31, 2026. The advocate connects patients and community members with culturally and linguistically competent support through outreach, education, advocacy, and community engagement. The role also contributes community information to program development and evaluation and may provide backup patient-service support.

What you'll do

• Conduct health education and outreach on healthcare access, mental health, and public policy
• attend and organize community events, workshops, and forums
• develop and distribute culturally appropriate health education materials
• advocate for the Asian community’s rights and needs in public forums and policy discussions
• provide translation and interpretation for healthcare interactions
• collect and analyze community data for program development and evaluation
• provide backup for appointment scheduling, interpreting, and inquiries
• and participate in agency-wide initiatives and events.
