Medical Assistant

Job overview

The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Chico, CA, paying $21–$26 per hour. The position supports the medical team in an ambulatory clinic setting at Northern Valley Indian Health. The role exists to help prepare patients and providers for visits and support the clinic’s delivery of care. It contributes through patient rooming, clinical procedures and screenings, accurate records and specimens, and communication with the medical team; the role may also float to other sites when needed.

What you'll do

• Room patients, document visit reasons, take vital signs, and assist providers when clinic policy requires
• perform listed laboratory tests and screenings
• perform blood draws and applicable injections
• conduct eye and hearing screenings and EKGs
• complete billing and charting documents
• communicate identified concerns to nursing and medical leadership
• travel to other locations for training, coverage, or business needs as directed.

Why this role
