Finance Director

The Finance Director role is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA, with compensation of $85,000–$125,000 per year. Highflyer HR provides payroll, HR, and benefits services to employers across 46 states. The role owns accounting, taxes, and budgeting while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and financial performance. Working with the CEO and Director of Treasury, the Finance Director oversees financial reporting, client and service-line profitability analysis, cash flow, controls over client funds, and accounting staff development.

What you'll do

• Lead month-end close, general ledger, and monthly financial statements in QuickBooks
• build the annual budget and forecast with the CEO and track results
• manage tax filings with the outside CPA firm
• analyze client profitability, pricing, vendor costs, and income on client funds
• prepare margin reports by client and service line
• manage finance activities for company 401(k) and benefits plans
• partner with the Director of Treasury on cash flow, banking relationships, and controls over client funds
• coach operations staff on accounting and banking practices.
