The Software Engineer, Developer Experience Platform role is hybrid, based onsite three days a week in Minneapolis, MN. The base compensation range is $97,000–$132,000 per year, with eligibility for a 15% annual target bonus. SmartThings builds an IoT platform used to connect and manage smart-home devices and experiences. The engineer owns developer documentation and its publishing pipeline while contributing features to the Developer Center. The role helps device makers integrate with the SmartThings platform by making technical guidance and developer tools clear, accurate, and easy to use.

What you'll do

• Own the Developer Center documentation site, including Docusaurus customization, MDX components, versioning, search, CI/CD, and analytics
• write and maintain API documentation, SDK guides, and integration tutorials
• establish documentation standards and maintain quality through linters, AI authoring tools, and reviews
• collaborate with platform engineers, product managers, and designers on Developer Center features
• use AI tools for drafting, research, and content audits with technical verification
• communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders.
