The Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Medicine role is onsite at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Compensation is $150,000–$165,000 per year. The position supports emergency medicine at a military academic medical center providing inpatient and emergency care. The pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care by assessing and managing medication therapy, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and responding to emergency events. The work also supports evidence-based treatment and improved patient outcomes through medication monitoring, stewardship, and care transitions.

What you'll do

• Assess and manage medication therapy
• review regimens for indication, dosing, allergies, interactions, duplication, laboratory monitoring, and documentation
• participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds
• document interventions
• respond to Level I Trauma activations and Code Blue emergencies
• participate in massive blood transfusion events
• perform pharmacokinetic monitoring and renal and hepatic dose adjustments
• support antibiotic stewardship
• monitor medication utilization, polypharmacy, and high-risk therapy
• educate providers and pharmacy learners
• perform medication reconciliation
• assist with discharge planning and transitions of care
• rotate into other qualified clinical pharmacy services as assigned.
