Head Start Classroom Aide Floater

Job overview

The Head Start Classroom Aide Floater role is onsite in Williamsport, PA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a 182-day school calendar; summers are off. Compensation is $15.19 per hour. The role supports STEP, Inc.’s Head Start program, helping preschool children learn, grow, and thrive. The aide works alongside teachers and program staff to keep children safe, engaged, and cared for while supporting classroom routines and learning activities. Placement across program locations helps meet program needs, and the role contributes to children’s development and readiness for school and life.

What you'll do

• Assist with educational activities and classroom routines
• support child safety
• encourage positive behavior and social interaction
• assist with hygiene, toileting, and meals
• prepare learning materials
• build relationships with children and families
• participate in meetings, trainings, and field trips
• complete documentation
• may accompany children on a bus depending on assignment.
