Power BI Migration Engineer

Job overview

The Power BI Migration Engineer role is remote, with occasional travel to Phoenix, AZ; Phoenix-based candidates are preferred. Compensation is not specified. The role supports modernization of legacy reporting infrastructure through migration to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. The engineer assesses existing SQL Server Reporting Services reports, converts and redesigns reporting assets, and validates data and presentation. This work helps move reporting to cloud-compatible models and interactive dashboards while making use of the Microsoft Fabric platform.

What you'll do

• Assess SSRS report catalogs and plan migration waves
• convert RDL files to Power BI Paginated Reports and rebuild standard reports as dashboards
• design and optimize semantic models using DAX and Power Query
• deploy assets in Microsoft Fabric
• modernize data connections
• implement data security and governance
• manage on-premises gateways
• conduct parallel testing and validation.
