Veterinary Technician - Inpatient Nursing. This is a part-time, onsite position in Middletown, CT, with a pay range of $22.50-$30.00 per hour. Pieper Veterinary is a VECCS Level I Facility. This role exists to provide skilled veterinary technician support for inpatient nursing care, ensuring high standards of patient care in a collaborative team environment.

What you'll do

• Provide restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia
• Monitor hospitalized and critical patients
• Administer medications and treatments
• Assist with procedures and maintain medical records
• Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus.

Education

Associate's Degree

Experience

At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care. Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus. CVT license is a plus. Knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring. Phlebotomy. Knowledge of procedures for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests. Knowledge of use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of sterilization techniques. Knowledge of instruments, materials, and standardized procedures for treatments. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language. Ability to work independently and accept direction. Must be 18 years or older.
