The Senior Accountant – Payroll role is an onsite, full-time position in West Chester, OH, with Monday–Friday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is negotiable based on skills and experience; no numeric salary is specified. National Railroad Safety Services provides safety services to the railroad industry, and this role works with its accounting team. The role supports accurate, compliant payroll and accounting operations, including multi-state payroll for more than 200 employees. It also contributes to reconciliations, audits, tax returns, and financial reporting while maintaining records and internal controls.

What you'll do

• Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll and multi-state payroll tax returns
• maintain payroll records and employee data
• calculate wages, overtime, and deductions across multiple states
• ensure compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory guidelines
• enforce internal controls
• prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis
• assist with audits, tax returns, and financial reporting
• reconcile accrued expenses and bank statements
• monitor employee timesheets.
