The Counselor position is an onsite, full-time role in Lansing, MI. Compensation is not specified. Behavioral Health Group provides opioid addiction treatment services and supports patients working toward recovery and personal goals. The counselor helps patients prepare for and adjust to a drug-free life through individual and group counseling, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and coordination with community providers. The role also supports program compliance and continuity of care within the counselor’s certification or license scope.

What you'll do

  • Conduct alcohol and drug counseling and group sessions
  • orient patients to program procedures
  • collect and assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information
  • develop and revise treatment plans and maintain records
  • make referrals and follow up
  • provide intake, readmission, and supportive counseling
  • provide crisis intervention
  • coordinate care with community providers
  • participate in required training and comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
