What you'll do

• Interpret written instructions and specifications
• plan and lay out work
• use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• set up and operate standard machine tools
• shape metal parts to close tolerances
• perform shop computations for dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds
• select materials, parts, and equipment
• fit and assemble parts into mechanical equipment
• perform other duties as requested.
