Thrift Associate

The Thrift Associate role is onsite in Winchester, VA, on an as-needed per diem basis. Compensation is $15.00–$17.27 per hour. Blue Ridge Care works to improve quality of life for community members affected by aging or serious and chronic illness; thrift shop proceeds support patient care and hospice services. The associate supports daily thrift shop operations by sorting and pricing donations, merchandising items, assisting customers and volunteers, and maintaining accurate sales and donation records. The work helps create an organized shopping experience and contributes funds to patient care and hospice services.

What you'll do

• Price, stock, and merchandise items for sale
• open and close the shop and support its scheduled operations
• guide and support volunteers and help orient new volunteers to procedures and safety
• maintain accurate receipts for sales and donations
• ensure daily deposits are accurate and timely
• greet customers and answer merchandise and mission questions
• help keep the shop, offices, and bathrooms clean and safe.
