The Director of Nursing, Labor and Delivery role is onsite in San Antonio, TX, with a stated salary range of $100,000–$140,000 per year. The role provides 24-hour leadership and resource management for one or two assigned departments and supports Baptist Health System’s strategic plans. The director is accountable for department operations, budgets, staffing, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes. By developing staff, coordinating with medical teams, and using performance data to improve workflows and manage risk, the role supports safe, effective patient care and departmental performance.

What you'll do

• Lead planning, daily operations, and resource management for assigned department(s)
• develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets
• recruit, select, coach, and evaluate staff
• maintain regulatory compliance
• coordinate with medical staff and ensure patient information is available to the care team
• use data and clinical systems to guide decisions and improve performance
• redesign workflows to support customer satisfaction, quality improvement, and cost reduction
• identify high-risk situations and use root-cause analysis
• support case management and quality initiatives
• maintain department and staff readiness and a safe environment.

Why this role

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a current Texas Registered Nurse license, and active healthcare-provider Basic Life Support; BLS through AHA is required within 60 days of hire. Five years of experience in the discipline or specialty is required.
