Power Systems Field Service Specialist

Job overview

The Power Systems Field Service Specialist role is onsite, with regular regional and nationwide customer-site travel and occasional visits to Hackettstown, NJ. Compensation is $90,000–$140,000 per year. JDC Power Systems supports customers by keeping electrical infrastructure reliable. This role diagnoses, repairs, tests, and commissions power equipment and control systems, helping customers restore safe, efficient operation and limit downtime. It also provides customer communication, operator training, service documentation, and coordination with other technicians.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair transformers, circuit breakers, low- and medium-voltage switchgear, and PLC-based controls
• run system checks and resolve technical issues
• support equipment startups and commissioning
• serve as the on-site customer contact
• provide basic operator training
• document service notes and test results
• use remote troubleshooting tools when appropriate
• coordinate with technicians
• follow company safety practices, OSHA guidance, and industry standards.
