Swiss Lathe Machinist

The Swiss Lathe Machinist role is onsite in Midland, NC. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility. Compensation is not specified. The machinist supports DRT Holdings’ manufacturing team by producing precision parts to quality and production requirements. The role exists to set up and operate Swiss lathe equipment and ensure finished work meets specifications. Careful blueprint interpretation, machine adjustment, inspection, and collaboration help minimize scrap and rework and maintain safe, efficient production.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate conventional Swiss lathe machines
• interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, operations, and setup requirements
• select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials
• calculate machining parameters and input or edit CNC programs as needed
• monitor operations and adjust for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions
• inspect finished workpieces with measuring tools
• perform trial runs
• collaborate with engineering, production, and programming teams to resolve machining or assembly challenges.

Why this role

Requires at least three years of Swiss-style lathe CNC machining experience, multi-axis machining experience, a high school diploma or GED, blueprint reading, and measurement skills. Fanuc, Okuma, GD&T, and lean manufacturing experience are preferred.
