The Manager, Middle Market Tax role is remote in the U.S. or hybrid from the Irvine or San Diego, CA offices. The salary range is $140,000–$163,000 per year. The manager advises clients across tax planning, research, compliance, allocations, and transactions while reviewing complex returns and leading tax professionals. The role supports accurate client filings, responsive tax guidance, and the development of the team.

What you'll do

• Serve as a primary client contact for tax planning, research, compliance, allocations, and transactional activities
• review complex federal and state tax returns
• check return output for completeness and accuracy
• resolve and document IRS and state notices
• monitor quarterly and year-end deadlines
• supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate tax professionals
• participate in team development and training
• review workpapers and provide staff feedback.
