Staff Accountant

Job overview

The Staff Accountant role is onsite in Head of Westport, MA, with compensation of $30–$35 per hour. The position supports day-to-day accounting operations at a metal recycling facility. The role helps ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls by handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, customer billing, and month-end close activities.

What you'll do

• Process vendor invoices and payments
• investigate invoice discrepancies
• reconcile vendor statements, bank and credit card accounts
• generate customer invoices and monitor receivables
• track fixed assets, inventory, and depreciation
• assist with tax, audit, and closing procedures
• maintain general ledger records and prepare AP and AR reports.
