Planer Operator

What you'll do

• Set up and operate planer machines
• adjust settings for thickness, width, and surface finish
• monitor lumber flow and identify defects
• ensure lumber meets grade specifications
• inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance and knife changes
• troubleshoot mechanical and production issues
• maintain production reports
• coordinate with graders, stacker operators, and maintenance staff
• follow safety policies and OSHA regulations
• maintain a clean work area.
