What you'll do

• Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, and other tools
• program and set up machines for first-article parts
• inspect and fine-tune parts for consistent quality
• select tools and materials, monitor machine feed and speed, and secure fixtures
• maintain production and run-time standards
• use measuring devices
• troubleshoot machining problems
• perform basic preventive maintenance.
