The CNC Multi-Axis Lathe Setup Specialist role is onsite in Sumner, WA, or Fife, WA. Compensation for onsite Washington applicants is $25–$40 per hour; other site ranges may differ. The role supports RTCA’s precision aerospace and defense manufacturing operations and flight-critical parts programs. The role exists to set up and prove out complex multi-axis lathe jobs, improve changeovers and cycle times, and ensure parts meet demanding quality requirements. Working with programmers, process engineers, Quality, and operators, the specialist helps improve production performance and develop shop-floor capability.

What you'll do

• Set up and prove out multi-axis CNC lathes, including twin-spindle and twin-turret machines
• manage changeovers and apply SMED methods
• build and maintain quick-change tooling systems, preset kits, and setup sheets
• collaborate with programmers and process engineers on toolpaths, workholding, tool selection, and cycle-time reduction
• support first-article inspection and tight-tolerance machining
• troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues
• train and mentor operators and junior machinists
• drive 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement.
