The General Pediatrician role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Compensation is not specified. La Rabida Children’s Hospital provides specialized, family-centered care for children with medically complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness. The physician provides outpatient acute and preventive care for children from birth to young adulthood, including assessment and management of chronic disease. Working with a multidisciplinary clinic team, the pediatrician develops and evaluates care plans, educates families, and supports coordinated, evidence-based care.

• Provide pediatric acute and primary care, health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management
• assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs
• develop, document, and modify plans of care
• monitor clinical outcomes
• educate patients and families
• consult on pediatric practice and disease management
• serve as a clinical resource and role model.

Why this role

Requires an MD or DO, unrestricted Illinois medical license, and board certification in pediatrics. Post-residency experience of two to three years is listed; experience with medically complex and technology-dependent patients is appreciated. Spanish bilingual ability is preferred. CPR/BLS and PALS requirements are specified.
